Nancy: I remember in high school eating anything and everything. Never showing physically what I ate. I loved it. I could eat an entire box of Little Debbies loving every bite and feel satisfied for the day. When I turned 30 I gained ten pounds. Chocolate didn’t satisfy me anymore. It was never the best chocolate cake, the best candy bar, or the best brownie. What was worse was I now showed what I ate. I realized my body would continue to show what I ate so I dropped down to 1-2 packs of the Little Debbies a day. Ha Ha. I still wasn’t eating great.

Over the next ten years more from Dean’s desires than my own, I learned to eat more nutritiously. I now know there are consequences to my eating habits. As the saying goes ‘You are what you eat’. I need to exercise to stay physically fit. I also need to eat healthy to stay physically fit.

With Dean’s help as a personal trainer I have set my goal to return to that high school weight that so many people say is impossible to achieve. He makes my workouts easy to understand and explains the exercises in a way I can grasp. He also laid out a nutrition plan that was easy to follow and allowed variety and choices of food for meals. I understand better how to eat healthy and to feed my body the nutrients it needs.

Fitness and eating habits meld together for a healthy lifestyle for the present as well as the future. It only makes sense.

Dean: I was very active growing up. We got up, went to school, and played outside until dinner. I played sports in high school, and spent some time in the U.S. Army. All these activities helped me stay in reasonable shape. While I had some trouble maintaining weight standards while I was in the service, after I got out the trouble really began.

Over a number of years I ballooned to 260+ pounds, was having challenges with my blood sugar, out of energy all the time; all the classic symptoms of being vastly overweight and unhealthy. When Nancy and I started having kids again, the realization hit me that if something didn’t change, they wouldn’t have dad around for very long. The result of this realization is a stronger, healthier, leaner and fitter me – 185 pounds and feeling great!

I could have never done it without Nancy. She provided the support I needed to develop a whole new healthy lifestyle. She changed the way she cooked and adapted our meals and habits in order to allow me the greatest chance of success. A healthy lifestyle is made a lot easier when those in your immediate circle actively support your goals.

Because of all the support I received, I now have the privilege of sharing my passion with others through my personal training business, Cr8 Health & Fitness.
