I received a call from Sarah LaPlante over at the Hippo Press and had an opportunity to share some strategies for weight loss and sticking to your new years resolutions.

Thanks for helping get the word out, Sarah!
I was stretching last night and Drew (age 4) and Karalyn (age 3), came into the exercise room. Karalynn says “daddy, watch this” and starts doing some lunges! They both proceeded to show me their entire repertoire of exercises (trying to out do each other). It was quite a show! We had a great time together.
Teaching your kids the importance of exercise starts by setting a good example. Nancy and I didn’t show the kids how to do it, they picked up on it by watching. While they are a little young to start with formal exercise, it is never too early to start habits that can last a lifetime. Kids need to be active and play - a lot! I would encourage you to start them young, and then try to keep up with them!
